LAB TECHNICIAN

Objective:

The Lab technician position is responsible for all testing to ensure the quality control of all the Martin Stone Quarries, Inc. products.  Other duties as assigned include reporting and general administrative duties.

Responsibilities:

- Prioritizes safety, then quality, followed by production

- Ensures a safe work environment for self and others at all times.  Responsible for site specific safety 

  training of lab visitors; completed in a professional manner

- Communicates effectively and timely with other staff

- Maintain accurate records

- Establish win-win relationships with inspectors

- Ensure all work areas are clean, tidy and organized at all times

- Trains and coaches other employees when assigned

- Performs other duties as time permits or as assigned

Technical Qualifications:

- Must be computer literate and able to demonstrate competency with data entry

- PA DOT Aggregate certification prefered (or the ability to obtain).  

- Bituminous and concrete certifications a plus.

- Able to perform basic math computations

- Knowledge of products and industry terminology

Physical Requirements & Conditions:

- Must be able to pass pre-employment physical/drug/alcohol test

- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds

Education and Work Experience:

- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred

- Previous specific lab experience preferred

- Basic math, reading, and writing skills are required (English)
